Once children have mastered the 9 pre-writing shapes (see Stage 1: Pre-writing learning mats), they should be able to start practicing all of the letters of the alphabet.
Letter formation is the sequence of movements followed by the pencil to form a letter. It is very important to ensure that your child is forming each letter correctly as practicing the correct movements over time will establish the movement in your child's motor memory making it second nature to write. Once the child's muscle memory* is established it can be very difficult to be undone.
*Muscle memory is the repetition of a task until the brain remembers how to do it automatically.

My son is loving trying to write his name
My (just) 3yr old has loved these boards since the moment they arrived. We had a slight hiccup in printing but Jo responded immediately and is sending out a replacement.
Will be a returning customer as and when we are ready for more advanced ones !
Really helped with my little boy learn to write and say his letters
We’ve only started our home learning journey and my little boy is now asking if he can do these himself and is now writing his own name, he’s only 3!!

My grandson enjoys using the practice sheets and pens and his pen control is certainly improving. He likes the dinosaurs around the sheets too.

I bought these sheets for my grandson who was reluctant to write. He now loves to trace over his name and trace over the letters and numbers every
day. The tripod pens have really helped to improve his pencil grip.

My Daughter loves drawing. She likes shouting out the letters and numbers when going through them. She loves the fact you can rub them out and start again.
I think my grandson is going to love working on these writing mats. They look really good. My only suggestion would be to present them in a folder or bag.
My second time ordering these boards this time for my niece and she loved them as much as my son did. Great for them to help with writing and even better they can be use again and again. X

These would have got a 5 star rating. However, they are not ideal for left handers as the ink rubs off as you move onto next letter/number.

My kid loves it!
The stage 2 letter tracing whiteboards are a really lovely looking product. Because they are so bright and colourful they are really engaging for children, like my son, who are usually reluctant to do this sort of activity. Being wipeclean makes them long lasting and sustainable and is also great for little perfectionists who worry about making mistakes.
I love that the sheets are personalised with my grandaughters name but I do feel that they could e a bit thicker or feel more substantial for the price. The prewriting sheets are good. She is only 2 1/2 but recognises her name and is starting to follow the shapes and her name.
My little girl loves this, it has really helped her form letters and shapes, she lives being able to rub it out and start again!
I'm delighted with the writing mats I bought for my 3 year old; a great resource!
We purchased the first 2 sets for our Granddaughter for Xmas. She is under 3 but quickly got on with using these to write her name and some alphabet using the guides on the cards. Following the dots she produced some great results and we are sure will get hours of fun in the months to come. This can only aid her development in the future.
My son is very happy, now he really enjoys practicing 😊
